Grade 8 – Science
About Course
The goal of this course is not to turn every student become a scientist, but rather to assist all students to develop two skills: scientific literacy and good attitudes about utilizing science to obtain knowledge. Students will be required to understand how to conduct scientific investigations, how to communicate the findings of scientific investigations to others, and how to apply their knowledge of science concepts and principles to reason about science and solve issues in real-life settings. The goal of science education requires effective change in the context of teaching and learning. This can only be accomplished by allowing students to investigate the background of science and its applications, as well as to build an awareness of the links between science, technology, society, and the environment
