English – VII
About Course
Course Title: Grade 7 English
Category: English Literature & Language
Medium Of Instruction: English
Course Level: The course has been designed to meet the Intermediate Level of English (B1) as per CEFR (The Common European Framework of Reference)
Course Highlights:
The G7 English class combines literature, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and literature analysis into one master course. While students need to enjoy reading, and they will have assigned literature time, they will begin doing literature analysis as well to determine the strengths or weaknesses of a story, the skill of the author in presenting the story, and how to apply similar writing styles in their writing.
Grade 7 marks the transition into middle school in some educational systems and high school in others. In any case, it is a departure from elementary school in many ways. As far as English is concerned, the major change is that the explicit teaching of grammar is almost non-existent. Whatever grammar may be taught, will be done inductively, or as revision exercises. The same may be said of vocabulary, though in this case, some idiomatic expressions and phrasal verbs may continue to be taught. Reading passages will completely give way to books, fiction or non-fiction.
